Lecturer – Information Systems (AI focus)

About the role
The University of the Western Cape invites an experienced academic to join its Department of Information Systems as a Lecturer. The position focuses on teaching and research, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence within information systems.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate undergraduate and postgraduate learning in Information Systems.
- Design and deliver modules, especially those covering artificial intelligence.
- Conduct research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
- Contribute to academic leadership, governance and departmental administration.
- Participate in curriculum development, assessment and community outreach.
Required profile
- Relevant Master’s qualification in Information Systems or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable experience in Business Analysis.
- Demonstrable experience in Systems Analysis and Design.
- Commitment to teaching excellence and research productivity.
