Lecturer – Business Management & Marketing Management (Independent Contractor)

About the role

The university is seeking an experienced lecturer to teach Business Management and Marketing Management modules for the Higher Certificate in Business Administration programme. The role is on an independent‑contractor basis and involves designing and delivering engaging lectures, workshops and practical sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, workshops and tutorials both in‑person and online.
• Design, update and maintain course content, curricula and instructional materials.
• Employ a variety of teaching methods and digital tools to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Develop, administer and grade assessments such as exams, assignments and presentations.
• Provide constructive feedback and monitor student progress.
• Offer academic advice, mentorship and timely responses to student inquiries.
• Contribute to curriculum development and ensure alignment with current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in continuous professional development and collaborate on teaching‑related research projects.
• Manage administrative tasks including attendance tracking, grading records and committee participation.
• Promote an inclusive classroom environment that supports diversity, equity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree or diploma (NQF level 8) in Business Management or Marketing Management.
• Prior lecturing experience, preferably both face‑to‑face and online.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.

Required skills

• Digital literacy and proficiency with educational technology tools.
