Early Childhood Development Programme Director

About the role

The Programme Director leads the overall leadership, management and strategic development of SPAC's Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme, ensuring high‑quality, play‑based, conservation‑focused learning for children aged 3‑6 in the Republic of Congo.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and day‑to‑day operational oversight for the ECD programme across multiple rural sites.
• Lead programme planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting and risk management.
• Support and develop a high‑performing team of coordinators, centre managers, supervisors and teachers.
• Travel regularly to Congo (at least three times per year) to support local teams, engage stakeholders and ensure programme quality.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of early childhood development, play‑based learning and conservation‑focused education.
• Proven leadership experience in managing multi‑site education programmes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior staff and local partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English and French (highly useful).
• Experience with programme budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
