Learning & Development Facilitator

About the role

Mediclinic George is recruiting one permanent, on-site Learning & Development Facilitator. The role ensures competence within the legislative environment and the Mediclinic Southern Africa strategy, aligned with the HR Service Delivery Model. It manages and reports on employee development, including student learning, in a structured way.

Key responsibilities

• Advocate for a learning culture
• Manage employee development in a planned manner in line with the Mediclinic Southern Africa strategy
• Manage formal students
• Act as custodian of the learning and development standards of the locality
• Enable transformation through learning and development

Required profile

• Essential: Professional Nurse qualification, and either a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education or 3 years' experience as a Clinical Facilitator
• Essential: at least 5 years' experience as a Professional Nurse in a hospital environment
• Essential: at least 2 years in a Clinical Facilitator or Nurse Educator role
• Preference will be given according to the Employment Equity Plan and to internal applicants who meet the minimum requirements

Required skills

• Adult learning principles and group facilitation tools and techniques
• Knowledge of education, training and healthcare legislation, including HWSETA and SANC requirements (AHA and HPCSA)
• Instructional design (ADDIE model) and Kirkpatrick levels of evaluation
• Mentoring and performance coaching skills
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Mediclinic record systems such as Workforce Dimensions, Mediclinic Academy (LMS), Connect and Webi
• Knowledge of Mediclinic's L&D strategy, policies and grievance, disciplinary and absenteeism processes for students
