Lead Solutions Architect

About the role

Absa is looking for a Lead Solutions Architect to drive the design and delivery of complex, business-strategy-aligned technology solution blueprints and associated solutions, and to build architectural capability in delivery teams across an estate. The role sits with project and program management teams and works embedded in delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, design and deliver scalable, testable, reusable technology solutions that fit the organisation's strategy
• Analyse customer requirements and business capabilities, and define the complex business problems each solution aims to solve
• Reconcile consumer and stakeholder views within solution designs, using negotiation skills
• Lead design thinking processes and create end-to-end solution blueprints and roadmaps, from ideation through to product launch and commercialisation
• Design or contribute to detailed feasibility studies and business cases
• Make sound engineering choices, including domain-driven design, loosely coupled integration, microservices and tool selection
• Take accountability for solution blueprint design and delivery decisions, and set and cascade solution direction across delivery teams
• Build architectural capability in delivery teams through coaching, knowledge sharing and peer reviews
• Conduct solution reviews, code reviews and testing, and present designs and business cases at group and business architectural forums
• Manage risk and governance, aligning solutions to Group guidelines and regulatory requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology
• Strong engineering background and ability to choose the right tools and approaches
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and negotiate complex opinions
