Laundry Supervisor

About the role

The Laundry Supervisor ensures that all linen and laundry operations run smoothly, meeting the hotel’s high standards for cleanliness, hygiene and guest satisfaction. Working closely with the Housekeeper, this role also supports overall housekeeping performance and staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily laundry operations, managing staff to ensure timely and correct cleaning of linens.
• Maintain laundry equipment, enforce chemical safety and uphold hygiene standards.
• Support the Housekeeper by supervising housekeeping activities and ensuring high cleanliness across all hotel areas.
• Control costs, minimise waste, and manage staffing levels for each shift.
• Conduct regular inspections, implement the cyclical cleaning programme and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety and audit requirements.
• Handle documentation, ordering and budgeting in line with audit and disaster‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10‑12 education (internal) or Grade 12 (external) with completed courses in chemical handling, equipment use and first‑time manager/supervisor training.
• At least one year of experience in housekeeping or laundry operations.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Authority to hire up to Laundry Hand level and issue verbal or written warnings.
• Subject to fraud and credit checks due to handling of company funds.
