Key Account Manager – Pharmaceutical

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑driven pharmaceutical professional to lead strategic customer engagement across key healthcare accounts in South Africa. The role will focus on expanding market access, strengthening relationships with healthcare stakeholders, and supporting better patient outcomes within a specialized therapeutic area.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales objectives by executing effective territory and customer engagement strategies.
• Develop and implement strategic account plans aligned with commercial and market priorities.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with healthcare professionals and decision‑makers.
• Analyze patient pathways to identify opportunities to improve treatment access and outcomes.
• Collaborate with Medical, Market Access and other cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Leverage CRM platforms and data insights to optimise account planning and performance.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, medical, pharmaceutical or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably as a Sales Representative or Key Account Manager.
• Strong understanding of the South African healthcare system, reimbursement environment and stakeholder landscape.
• Proven ability to develop strategic account plans and meet ambitious sales targets.
• Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English.
