Retail Manager

About the role

Trafigura is looking for a Retail Manager in Matsapha to strategically manage and grow a safe and profitable retail operation, integrating acquired retail businesses and maximising revenues and profits. The role covers evaluation, development, execution and administration of new projects.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed stated objectives (EBITDA, OPEX, CAPEX) for the retail business.
• Coach and support staff to develop retail networks through growth and/or optimisation, and benchmark the organisation to maximise results.
• Ensure customers are delighted by their interaction with Puma retail services and that HSE culture is followed according to Puma standards.
• Deliver projects, ensure locations, layouts, offerings and operating platforms are world-class and optimised for the market, and comply with partnership requirements for opening locations across multiple regions.
• Deploy best practice for network planning and channel management, align engineering and maintenance needs, and define sales profiles, targets, KPIs and campaigns with regional partners.
• Drive volume and margins, site profitability, fuel card sales and operational excellence, and lead contract negotiations and management.
• Develop a sales training framework, manage relationships with internal and external support, and set up processes for divesting company-owned stations and real estate.
• Lead network development to grow the retail network profitably to set targets.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years' experience in senior management in similar positions or a relevant field.
• Significant retail experience in Downstream and a proven record of project management.
