Junior Technical Engineer

About the role

A well-established technology business in Cape Town is looking for a Junior Technical Engineer to join its Technical Workshop team, reporting to the Technical Manager. The engineer repairs and supports the electronic equipment customers rely on, with occasional installations and site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Perform component-level electronic and mechanical repairs, done neatly and on time
• Provide installation support, from consultation to hands-on fitting
• Configure and test sales demonstration equipment
• Maintain accurate job records, keep the workspace tidy and follow safe practice

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12); a second language is an advantage
• At least 2 years repairing digital and/or RF equipment to component level
• Valid driver's licence and your own reliable transport
• Calm and courteous with customers, even under pressure
• Able to handle shifting priorities with minimal supervision

Required skills

• SMD component soldering
• Windows and Microsoft Office
• Application software, label printing software and WLAN exposure
