Junior Service & Support Technician

About the role

The Junior Service & Support Technician provides technical and administrative support to senior technicians, engineers and sales consultants in delivering after-sales service. Practical technical capability is developed through supervised troubleshooting, site support, commissioning, warranty administration and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer technical queries and escalate complex issues to senior technicians or engineers
• Accompany senior technicians on local site visits and assist with inspections, fault diagnosis and repairs
• Assist with commissioning and testing of new and upgraded energy systems under supervision
• Support troubleshooting of energy-system faults and document findings accurately
• Assist with warranty claims and follow up on required technical information
• Support sales consultants with basic technical information on products and systems
• Record technical issues, actions and resolutions in the company CRM
• Maintain service records and help prepare technical documentation
• Take part in team meetings, supplier training and internal learning, and follow safety requirements and senior staff instructions

Required profile

• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• A basic electrical qualification or relevant technical diploma is advantageous
• At least two years' exposure to technical support, electrical work, renewable energy or backup-power systems
• Valid driver's licence and proven driving ability
• Willingness to learn, clear verbal and written communication, basic troubleshooting and problem-solving, reliability, punctuality and good organisation

• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
