Junior Logistics Manager - Petroleum & Dangerous Goods

About the role

A private employer in Pretoria, Gauteng is looking for a Junior Logistics Manager to support the safe, efficient and controlled daily operation of its logistics fleet and bulk vehicle operations (BVO) in the petroleum environment. The role combines fleet control, fuel-delivery coordination, safety and compliance with the National Road Traffic Act and SANS standards, and incident and management reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute deliveries efficiently and control and monitor BVO activities
• Ensure trucks and trailers are operationally ready and that fuel is transported and delivered safely
• Complete required checks and logistics documentation
• Identify and report product losses, gains, spills and contamination incidents, and investigate accidents, incidents and near misses
• Monitor driver and vehicle utilisation and escalate logistics risks and operational exceptions
• Produce accurate weekly management information and track corrective actions

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate; a logistics, transport, supply chain or operations qualification is preferred
• MUST come from the petroleum/fuel industry with experience in the same or similar position
• Previous experience in logistics, fleet, transport and petroleum/fuel distribution
• Dangerous-goods transport exposure and fleet-management experience
• Valid driver's licence appropriate to the position plus PDP
