Junior IT Technician – On-site Support (Durban)

About the role

Our client, a growing IT services provider, is looking for a motivated Junior IT Technician to deliver on‑site and remote support for retail and healthcare customers in Durban.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network connectivity issues for client sites.
• Install, configure and update POS systems and pharmacy management applications.
• Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, printers and retail peripherals such as receipt printers, barcode scanners and card terminals.
• Assist with basic LAN, Wi‑Fi, router and switch configuration and troubleshooting.
• Act as a professional representative during site visits, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Document technical issues, resolutions and client site configurations accurately.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 1–4 years of experience in IT Technical Support, Desktop Support or as a Field Technician.
• Hands‑on experience with POS software; experience with pharmacy management software is a plus.
• Valid clean driver’s licence and a reliable personal vehicle for travel to client sites.
