About the role
BDO South Africa is looking for an IT Audit Consultant to join its IT Audit Division in Durban. The role involves delivering IT audit engagements, mentoring junior staff and supporting business development initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Complete audit work assignments within allocated timeframes and required standards.
- Mentor and coach team members, ensuring their development.
- Focus on business development and internal initiatives.
- Review IT general controls and assess design and effectiveness of manual and automated controls.
- Discuss audit scope with the Financial Audit team and develop engagement letters and budgets.
- Facilitate client meetings, act as primary point of contact and keep stakeholders informed of potential delays.
- Perform first‑level reviews, validate findings and present audit results to clients.
- Lead closing meetings with clients and audit teams and provide feedback to IT management.
- Understand BDO's audit and risk management processes.
- Build relationships and identify new opportunities.
