Junior Field Service Technician – Brake Testing Equipment

About the role

National Brake Testing Services is seeking a Junior Field Service Technician to support the installation, calibration and maintenance of vehicle brake testing equipment across South Africa. Full training on specialised equipment will be provided, and the role involves regular travel to customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Calibrate brake testing equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Install equipment upgrades, commission new sites and conduct testing.
• Complete service reports and documentation for each job.
• Provide professional on‑site customer service.

Required profile

• Basic mechanical, electrical and electronic aptitude (electronic knowledge advantageous).
• Welding experience is a plus but not essential.
• Computer literate with a valid Code B driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (reading, writing and speaking).
• Willingness to travel extensively, work away from home and work both independently and in a team.
