Junior External Sales Representative (FMCG Industry)

About the role

This is a full‑time, field‑based position with a fast‑growing South African beverage company. You will be the face of the brand, meeting pre‑qualified prospects, conducting product tastings and converting interest into sales while managing an existing portfolio of accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Attend pre‑booked meetings with warm, qualified prospects.
• Perform in‑person product tastings and demonstrations.
• Close new customers who are ready to commit.
• Upsell existing accounts with new ranges, seasonal offerings and additional products.
• Onboard new customers and ensure a strong first experience.
• Follow up consistently after tastings to secure sales.
• Build long‑term relationships and act as the primary point of contact for assigned territory.
• Maintain an efficient schedule and log all activities, notes and outcomes in the CRM.
• Achieve weekly and monthly sales targets and KPIs.

Required profile

• Own a reliable vehicle and hold a valid driver’s licence.
• Previous experience in field sales, account management or B2B sales.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
• Highly reliable and self‑motivated with strong follow‑up discipline.
• Comfortable conducting product tastings and demonstrations.
• Ability to manage your own schedule and work independently.

Required skills

• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Monday.com.
