Junior Engineer

About the role

Our client, a specialist in combustion, boiler and industrial heating solutions, is seeking a Junior Engineer to join their technical team in Tokai, Cape Town. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on exposure to project engineering, technical documentation, site work and quality control within a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Contracts Engineer with project coordination, engineering tasks and contract administration.
• Draft and update technical drawings, including layouts and P&IDs.
• Maintain project documentation, data packs and reporting files.
• Support quality‑control checks, compliance verification and logistics of equipment and materials.
• Work alongside technicians on installations, commissioning and maintenance, preparing site reports and job packs.
• Collect and consolidate site data and technical feedback.
• Provide administrative support for procurement, finance and internal communication.

Required profile

• BTech or National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering (BSc/BEng advantageous).
• 0‑2 years of experience; entry‑level candidates welcome.
• Strong attention to detail, proactive attitude and ability to follow structured processes.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Exposure to CAD/drawing software (advantageous).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar project tools (advantageous).
