Junior Buyer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Buyer to support the procurement of raw materials, parts and equipment for our manufacturing plant. The role involves close interaction with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely and cost‑effective purchases.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with suppliers and co‑workers to obtain and compare quotes.
• Collaborate with all departments to understand material requirements.
• Read Bills of Materials (BOMs) and place orders according to lead times.
• Issue purchase orders, receive and process deliveries, and tag recorded materials.
• Coordinate collection, deliveries, and maintain stock and work‑in‑progress stores.
• Follow up on outstanding orders and maintain accurate procurement records.

Required profile

• Project management or procurement diploma (or equivalent) together with a Grade 12 certificate.
• Minimum two years of experience in a similar procurement or purchasing environment.
• Excellent communication, organisational and multitasking abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with Sage Pastel Online is a plus.
