Junior Buyer

About the role

homechoice is seeking a Junior Buyer to manage the buying and trading of an assigned product category. The role involves sourcing products, managing suppliers, planning ranges and analysing trading performance to meet sales, margin and stock objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop commercially viable product ranges aligned with customer needs and market trends.
• Source new suppliers, negotiate terms and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Communicate product quality standards throughout the development process.
• Apply technical product knowledge, costing and lead‑time considerations to deliver successful products.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify innovation opportunities.
• Analyse sales, stock and margin data to optimise profitability.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on product strategies and commercial recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful range delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Retail Business Management, Fashion Buying, Consumer Science, Business Management or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in retail buying, including supplier engagement and range development.
• Experience analysing sales, stock and margin data to support commercial decisions.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment with competing priorities.
