IT Technician – Network & Support

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Technician to provide on‑site support and maintenance for our WAN, LAN, network devices, computers and peripherals across multiple sites. The role involves timely resolution of all IT incidents logged through the Helpdesk and participation in regional and global IT projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safety and compliance standards at all VCC sites.
• Resolve Helpdesk tickets promptly and investigate technical problems.
• Service and maintain computers at KZN Forestry locations.
• Assist with maintenance of network devices, peripherals and cabling.
• Support implementation of new network equipment and upgrades.
• Deploy anti‑virus software and ensure computers receive the latest security patches.
• Provide standby support for IT faults outside normal business hours.
• Execute tasks assigned by the Senior IT Technician (Site Lead).

Required profile

• Matriculation with MCSE certification or an IT Diploma.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar IT support role or a relevant internship.
• Valid driver’s licence.
