IT Technician

About the role

The organisation operates in the industrial and manufacturing sector and needs an experienced IT Technician to deliver hands‑on technical support, maintain the IT infrastructure and ensure smooth operation of hardware, software, networks and end‑user systems. This is a fast‑paced role suited to a solutions‑driven professional who enjoys troubleshooting and system maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain computers, workstations, printers and peripheral devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network issues.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support to end‑users across the business.
• Manage Active Directory tasks such as user setup, password resets and permissions.
• Support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive.
• Conduct basic network troubleshooting on switches, access points, VOIP devices and connectivity problems.
• Perform routine system maintenance, updates, diagnostics and performance optimisation.
• Monitor backups and ensure business‑continuity processes are followed.
• Maintain IT asset registers, inventory and repair records.
• Assist with onboarding of new employees and related IT setup.
• Support IT projects and collaborate with the broader IT team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in an IT Technical Support or IT Technician role.
• Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networking and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
• Exposure to Active Directory user management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are advantageous.
• Degree or studies in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred.
