IT Systems Engineer – Managed Services (Cape Town)

About the role

This position is with a well‑established Managed Service Provider serving financial‑services clients in the greater Cape Town area. The IT Systems Engineer will deliver technical support and trusted advice, handling incidents, service requests and infrastructure improvements from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional technical support to managed‑service clients via remote tools and on‑site visits.
• Take ownership of service requests and incidents, logging, investigating and resolving them within SLA targets.
• Install, configure, maintain and support client hardware, operating systems, cloud services and applications.
• Perform routine maintenance such as OS/firmware updates, patch management, health checks and monitoring.
• Maintain backup, disaster‑recovery and business‑continuity solutions.
• Implement and uphold cybersecurity best practices across managed environments.
• Document technical details and produce clear communication for clients and internal teams.
