IT Support Specialist (ERP / Sage Focus)

About the role

We are looking for an organised and analytical IT Support Specialist to join our Johannesburg team. You will be the primary internal contact for our Sage ERP environment, providing first‑ and second‑line support while ensuring system stability and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for technical assistance via email, phone or ticketing system.
• Install, configure and maintain computer hardware, operating systems and network components.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access rights in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Provide basic training to staff on new hardware and software.
• Administer Sage 50 ERP, troubleshoot system errors, connectivity issues and user‑access permissions.
• Assist with data synchronization, module conflicts, print/report errors and coordinate with external Sage partners for complex issues.
• Support critical financial period‑end processes, system setups and backup verification.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in an IT Helpdesk or Desktop Support role.
• Hands‑on experience supporting or administering a Sage ERP application.
• Basic understanding of accounting modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivable is advantageous.
