IT Field Services Technician – Cape Town

About the role

The IT Field Services Technician provides high‑quality onsite and remote support for multiple client environments in Cape Town. The role blends field‑based desktop assistance with service‑desk responsibilities, requiring a proactive, hands‑on approach.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to support requests via phone and email during business hours.
• Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 remote support for user, endpoint, Microsoft 365 and network issues.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly, manage expectations and provide status updates.
• Perform onsite troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and networking equipment.
• Install, configure, upgrade and replace workstations, peripherals and basic infrastructure.
• Maintain professional client interactions and manage stakeholder expectations during visits.

Required profile

• Matric plus relevant IT qualifications/certifications or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar IT support role.
• Strong background in both onsite desktop support and remote/service‑desk environments.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport (fuel reimbursed for client visits).

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 / Office 365 user support and administration.
• Windows desktop troubleshooting.
• Windows Server exposure and Active Directory fundamentals.
• Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, DNS, DHCP, basic routing).
• Hardware troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers and vendor devices.
