International Payroll Specialist

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing HR and payroll consultancy based in Amsterdam, is expanding its global payroll team. The International Payroll Specialist will manage end‑to‑end payroll operations for multiple countries, work closely with external providers, and ensure compliant, timely payroll delivery for international organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full‑cycle international payroll processing and coordinate with external payroll providers.
• Resolve complex payroll queries and support year‑end activities, audits, and statutory reporting.
• Participate in payroll implementation projects, migrations, and transitions from outsourced to in‑house models.
• Conduct testing, user‑acceptance testing (UAT) and oversee go‑live activities.
• Document processes, deliver training, and act as subject‑matter expert for assigned countries.
• Identify automation opportunities, develop payroll dashboards and standardise procedures across jurisdictions.
• Maintain employee master data, support HRIS/payroll integrations and troubleshoot system issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional designations such as SAIPA, CIMA, SAICA, AGA or similar are advantageous.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS, payroll and Time & Attendance systems.
• Knowledge of payroll integrations between HR, Finance and payroll platforms.
• Ability to develop payroll dashboards and management reports.
• Strong understanding of local labour and tax legislation for multiple countries.
