Internal Sales Engineer – Fuel Systems

About the role

We are seeking an Internal Sales Engineer to join a leading South African manufacturer of fuel storage, handling and pumping solutions. The role is based in Port Elizabeth and focuses on driving sales success within a fast‑paced engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inbound customer enquiries and provide timely, accurate information.
• Prepare quotations, tenders and process sales orders.
• Liaise with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into solutions.
• Monitor project progress and coordinate with production and engineering teams.
• Maintain and develop client relationships, identifying new sales opportunities.
• Provide product support and ensure high levels of customer service throughout the sales cycle.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12; a sales, engineering or technical qualification is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of internal sales experience in fuel systems, pumps, tanks, petrochemical, engineering or manufacturing.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret customer requirements.
• Experience with quotations, tenders, order processing and customer relationship management.
• Excellent communication, administration and problem‑solving abilities.
