Internal Sales Assistant

About the role

The Internal Sales Assistant will support the Business Development Executive (BDE) in a fast‑growing sales territory, helping to nurture existing client relationships and build a pipeline of new prospects. This role is pivotal for increasing sales volume and ensuring smooth post‑sale processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the BDE in achieving sales targets and increasing revenue within the assigned territory.
• Generate new leads through prospecting, cold calling and qualification of inbound webinar and seminar attendees.
• Maintain and update all lead and customer information in the sales CRM, converting leads to opportunities.
• Handle inbound customer calls and email enquiries, creating quotes and payment notices.
• Support forecasting, pipeline management and coordination with accounts, technical and post‑sale teams.
• Conduct market research, segment customers and align with marketing campaigns.
• Schedule meetings and demos, liaising with technical teams for preparation.

Required profile

• Matric qualification with standard mathematics.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales environment, including cold calling.
• Proven ability to support a BDE in meeting monthly sales targets.
• Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills.
• Effective time‑management, confidence and comfort with telecommunications.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a sales CRM system.
