Internal Audit Graduate Programme (3-year) – Johannesburg

About the role

KPMG is offering a three‑year graduate training contract in its Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance Services practice. The role is based in Johannesburg and provides hands‑on experience delivering internal audit services to a diverse client base across industries.

Key responsibilities

• Apply internal audit methodologies aligned with professional standards.
• Document and analyse business processes, risks, controls and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and complete audit workpapers to meet client scope, risk and control requirements.
• Draft structured audit reports that capture key facts and background.
• Manage time effectively to deliver quality work within project budgets and deadlines.
• Support data‑analytics activities using IDEA or similar tools.
• Assist with client delivery and project administration under management direction.

Required profile

• Keen interest in internal audit backed by relevant tertiary education.
• BCom (Hons) Internal Auditing or equivalent qualification.
• Strong academic record (minimum 65% aggregate).
• High‑performing team player who can work independently and adapt to changing environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IDEA or comparable data‑analytics software.
• Advanced competence in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
