Intermediate SQL Developer – Enterprise Data Solutions

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate SQL Developer to join a dynamic technology team in Johannesburg. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining enterprise‑grade database solutions that support critical business operations and enable data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain SQL Server objects such as stored procedures, functions, views and triggers.
• Build and manage ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Create and support reporting solutions with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI.
• Analyse execution plans, optimise queries, indexes and overall database performance.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts and QA to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot issues and participate in deployments and code reviews.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and a National Diploma, Bachelor’s or BTech in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• 3–5 years of commercial experience as a SQL Developer.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016‑2022) and advanced T‑SQL development.
• Experience with Azure SQL or other cloud‑based data platforms is desirable.
