Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will support a specific construction project, coordinating technical design with on‑site installation and ensuring successful commissioning in line with Kirby Group’s vision and values.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and organise all design documents and drawings.
• Attend project hand‑over and technical meetings.
• Identify value‑engineering and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare coordinated drawings covering mechanical, electrical, sprinkler, structural and architectural elements.
• Review design specifications, ensure compliance of drawings and technical submittals.
• Assist in weekly progress reporting and technical submittal assessment.
• Process requisitions, generate purchase orders and verify receipt of equipment and materials.
• Manage RFI queries, liaise with design team, contractors and internal project team.
• Maintain document control using File Key and ensure information security per ISMS.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments and organise subcontractor work.
• Conduct quality‑control inspections, snagging and test‑pack tracking.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with experience on construction projects.
• Ability to coordinate design and installation activities.
• Understanding of commercial fundamentals such as profit plans and variation logs.
• Commitment to information security and compliance with ISMS.
