Integration Architect (Contract, Hybrid – Johannesburg)

About the role

This contract position is for an Integration Architect who will work in a hybrid model based in Johannesburg. You will partner closely with the Solutions Architect and client teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable integration solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop technical architecture for integration solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with the Solutions Architect to capture detailed business and user requirements.
• Create roadmaps, proof‑of‑concepts and detailed technical specifications.
• Lead Architecture Review Board discussions and act as the technical owner for domain‑specific solutions in production.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, gaps, and inefficiencies in third‑party software.
• Write custom integration code (e.g., Web Services, APIs) and oversee testing, review, and implementation.
• Establish and enforce integration architecture standards across APIs, middleware, event‑driven and cloud platforms.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise integration solutions.
• Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts verbally and in writing.
• Hands‑on expertise in guiding technical decisions and driving best‑practice adoption.
• Experience participating in client project meetings and scoping calls as a key technical resource.
