Inspector de Operaciones Fluviales

About the role

The River Operations Inspector is responsible for collecting, validating and analysing data from the river fleet and terminal activities. The role supports the river operations team by providing performance dashboards, root‑cause analysis of delays, capacity modelling and cost optimisation to enhance safety, efficiency and reliability of the river logistics chain.

Key responsibilities

• Transform operational data (movements, fuel consumption, incidents) into actionable insights to optimise schedules and reduce bottlenecks.
• Develop and maintain KPI dashboards covering performance, fleet utilisation and safety.
• Analyse root causes of delays and non‑productive time, quantifying their impact on cost and service levels.
• Support capacity modelling and fleet planning to meet dispatch programmes at the lowest possible cost.
• Document procedures, workflows and dispatch tools, evaluating their effectiveness after implementation.
• Model integrated scenarios for strategic and operational decision‑making at executive level.
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines, safety and occupational health standards.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Director of River Operations.

Required profile

• Academic background in Naval, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Customs Administration or a related field.
• Minimum six (6) years of experience in similar river or maritime operations roles.
• Fluency in Spanish and technical proficiency in English; conversational English is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of chartering and maritime transport.
• Familiarity with the Ship and Port Facility Protection Code.
• Understanding of the General Port Law.
• Experience with the Industrial Safety System for Port Operations (SISEINOP).
• Experience with the National Aquatic Spaces System (SINEA).
