ICT / Infrastructure Lead

About the role

The organisation is a well‑established multinational operating across Africa and needs an ICT / Infrastructure Lead to ensure the reliability, security and performance of its technology environment. The role sits between senior technical support and IT management, providing hands‑on expertise while coordinating people, suppliers and projects across multiple branches.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day reliability, security and performance of IT infrastructure across African branches.
• Oversee networks, servers, hardware, software and cloud services in a distributed environment.
• Provide hands‑on troubleshooting for complex infrastructure issues and support country teams.
• Manage hardware/software maintenance, upgrades, backups and IT asset registers.
• Coordinate third‑party service providers and enforce in‑country SLAs.
• Lead infrastructure projects such as system implementations, upgrades and migrations.
• Monitor cybersecurity controls and ensure compliance with Group IT policies.
• Support data‑centre operations, data governance and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Assist with IT budgeting, forecasting and resource planning.
• Travel to regional sites as required to deliver on‑site support and oversee implementations.

Required profile

• Relevant IT/ICT degree or diploma.
• 3–5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, preferably with team, project or supplier leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience supporting multi‑site, multi‑branch or multi‑entity organisations.
• Experience working across African countries or multiple geographic locations is a strong advantage.
