Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will provide essential HR support to the HR Business Partner, handling a wide range of operational tasks across recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and HR information systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment and selection processes, ensuring compliance with equal employment policies.
• Support employee onboarding and manage the employee wellness day and company bursary program.
• Advise on employee relations matters, coordinate disciplinary interventions, and draft minutes.
• Help design and roll out new policies and procedures, and manage employee absenteeism.
• Maintain and upload data to HRIS tools, generate HR reports, and champion automation and AI‑enabled workflow improvements.
• Coordinate employee communication materials, conduct exit interviews, and participate in audits.
• Engage with tertiary education institutions and manage student and graduate programs.

Required profile

• Diploma in Human Resource Management with at least 5 years of experience as an HR Officer.
• Proven experience in resourcing, skills development, time management, and labour relations.
• Minimum of 3 years working with an HRIS system.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building, decision‑making, and organizational abilities.
• High attention to detail; affirmative action candidates preferred.
