Human Resources Manager – Luxury 5‑Star Hotel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function of a prestigious 5‑star hotel in Cape Town. The role combines strategic people leadership with hands‑on operational support to create a high‑performance culture that enhances both employee satisfaction and guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead employee and labour relations, ensuring compliance with South African legislation.
• Drive recruitment, onboarding, talent acquisition and succession planning.
• Provide guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions and employee development.
• Develop and implement training and leadership development programmes.
• Oversee payroll, benefits, leave administration and maintain accurate HR records.
• Support budgeting, workforce planning and HR analytics.
• Promote health, safety and compliance across the hotel.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources Management or a related qualification.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience as an HR Manager, preferably in a 5‑star hotel.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to influence and coach managers at all levels.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• South African citizen or permanent resident.
