HSSEQ Manager

About the role

The HSSEQ Manager will develop, implement and oversee health, safety, environmental and quality management systems for fleet and logistics operations. This role ensures strict compliance with South African OHSA, NRTA and ISO standards, aiming to reduce road accidents, manage driver wellness and foster a zero‑harm safety culture across all depots and routes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously update comprehensive HSEQ manuals, policies and SOPs.
• Align company systems with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Ensure fleet operations comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the National Road Traffic Act.
• Conduct routine risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses, depot inspections and en‑route safety evaluations.
• Maintain compliance with all local, provincial and national transport and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Occupational Health or a related field.
• Professional certification such as SAMTRAC or NEBOSH International Certificate/Diploma.
• Active registration with Saiosh.
• 1‑3 years progressive HSEQ experience, including at least 1 year in a management or supervisory role.
• Preferably experience in high‑risk logistics, transport, fleet management or supply‑chain environments.
