HR Shared Services Team Leader

About the role

The HR Shared Services Team Leader will oversee compliance, systems, and people processes that keep HR operating across multiple African countries. You will manage a small team, including a receptionist, ensuring smooth onboarding, status changes, and off‑boarding while maintaining high‑level detail without micromanagement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage shared services operations: onboarding, status changes, off‑boarding across HQ and stores, resolving issues proactively.
• Create and maintain position numbers in SAGE and ensure correct linkage to payroll, HR, and Kronos data.
• Oversee health & safety compliance: update policies, coordinate training, manage committees, and track completion.
• Handle employment equity: draft and submit equity plans, facilitate quarterly forums, maintain compliant records and timely reports.
• Lead a team of three, setting daily priorities, supporting development, and ensuring smooth reception functions.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of HR generalist or shared services experience, preferably with multi‑country exposure.
• Solid knowledge of employment equity and health & safety frameworks.
• Experience with SAGE X3 or SAGE 300 People (or comparable HR platforms).
• Strong organisational skills, discretion with sensitive information, and ability to work independently.
