HR & Payroll Manager

About the role

The HR & Payroll Manager will lead the end‑to‑end payroll process and support all HR functions for our South African operations. You will act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll queries and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll and manage leave records accurately.
• Handle employee queries, reconcile third‑party payments and process statutory declarations.
• Maintain employee and operational files, oversee staff functions, discipline meetings and performance reviews.
• Coordinate training schedules, health & safety administration and recruitment support.
• Assist with onboarding, off‑boarding and HR/payroll projects.
• Maintain filing systems and utilise Microsoft Office 365 for communication.
• Manage fleet vehicles and support staff.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma (advantageous).
• Proven experience in a similar HR/payroll role.
• Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and online systems (SARS, UIF, WCA).
• Understanding of payroll statutory and legislative items.

Required skills

• Payspace (preferred payroll system).
• ESS, Efiling, Easyfile.
• Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel.
• Familiarity with SARS, UIF and WCA online platforms.
