HR Officer

About the role

We are seeking a well‑rounded HR Officer to join a reputable engineering and industrial organisation in Cape Town. The role offers full exposure across the employee lifecycle, ideal for a true HR generalist who enjoys both operational involvement and strategic impact.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations processes.
• Oversee performance management, disciplinary actions, payroll, and benefits administration.
• Prepare HR reports, maintain accurate employee records, and ensure compliance with labour legislation.
• Support Skills Development initiatives and coordinate Employment Equity processes.
• Assist with HR reporting and data analysis using digital tools.

Required profile

• Completed BCom degree in Human Resources or a related field with a minimum average of 65% (academic transcript required).
• At least 2 years of proven HR generalist experience covering recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, payroll, compliance, Skills Development, and Employment Equity.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation, especially the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and familiarity with MEIBC requirements.
• Professional maturity, discretion, and sound judgment.
