HR Manager – South Africa (Midrand)

About the role

As a proactive member of the RSA Leadership team, the HR Manager will champion McCormick’s culture and drive the people agenda for our Midrand site. You will partner with country leaders to support business growth, build capabilities, and enhance employee engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the HR agenda for South Africa within a global HR framework, covering recruitment, performance, talent management and employee development.
• Manage employee relations, including union engagement and complex case resolution.
• Oversee organisational design, workforce planning, payroll, SOX controls and the new‑hire process.
• Coordinate employee engagement activities, talent succession, recruitment strategy and transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with HR Centres of Expertise (Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Internal Communications) to ensure best‑practice HR processes.
• Provide HR expertise to leaders and cross‑functional teams, operationalising strategic HR programs at site, multi‑site and multi‑country levels.
• Participate in regional and global HR projects supporting operational excellence.

Required profile

• Relevant HR qualification.
• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager in a commercial/operations environment.
• Successful track record of change and transformation initiatives with RSA leadership.
• Strong knowledge of South African employment legislation and extensive union experience.
• Ability to influence and build relationships at all organisational levels, locally and globally.
