HR / IR Manager (Logistics / Operational Environment)

About the role

A client operating in a tough logistics environment is looking for a strong, hands-on HR/IR manager. This is not a corporate, desk-bound HR position: HR is on the ground every day, dealing with people, performance, discipline and industrial relations matters. The role suits someone who is resilient, decisive and comfortable handling difficult situations such as disciplinary action, grievances, conflict and terminations. Salary is commensurate with qualification and experience.

Required profile

• Relevant HR degree or diploma is essential.
• Proven 360-degree HR/IR experience across the full HR function.
• Resilient and emotionally mature, able to handle pressure and confrontation; firm, fair and decisive.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English, with Afrikaans essential because the workforce is predominantly Afrikaans-speaking.
• A strong personality who can command respect without creating unnecessary conflict.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of HR legislation, policies and procedures.
• Disciplinary hearings, grievances, absenteeism, misconduct, performance management and employee relations, with proven experience at CCMA.
• Recruitment, onboarding, performance management and general HR administration, with attention to detail and accuracy.
