HR / IR Manager (Logistics / Operational environment)

About the role

An opportunity for a strong, hands‑on HR/IR individual who thrives in a fast‑paced, demanding and highly operational environment. This is not a corporate, desk‑bound HR position. Our client operates within a tough logistics environment where HR is firmly on the ground, dealing with people, performance, discipline and IR matters on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day employee relations, disciplinary actions, grievances, conflict resolution and terminations.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management and general HR administration with high accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with HR legislation, policies and procedures, including CCMA processes.
• Handle absenteeism, misconduct and performance issues, conducting hearings and hearings as required.
• Support operational teams by providing timely HR advice and maintaining a fair, consistent workplace.

Required profile

• Relevant HR degree or diploma (essential).
• Proven 360° HR/IR experience across the full HR function.
• Resilient, emotionally mature and able to handle pressure and confrontation.
• Strong knowledge of HR legislation, policies, CCMA processes and disciplinary procedures.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (Afrikaans essential for the workforce).
• Assertive personality capable of commanding respect without creating unnecessary conflict.
