HR Generalist – Recruitment, Payroll & HR Coordination

About the role

We are seeking an HR Generalist to support a hospitality operation in Foreshore, Cape Town. You will manage HR administration, recruitment, onboarding, and payroll for up to 70 staff members, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update employee records, files, and HR databases in line with legislative requirements.
• Handle HR queries, provide guidance on policies, and coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and off‑boarding processes.
• Administer employee benefits, manage leave records, and support training and compliance documentation.
• Assist with performance reviews, appraisal cycles, and preparation of HR reports, contracts, and notices.
• Process monthly payroll for 70 employees using Sage Business Cloud Payroll, capturing new hires, terminations, salary changes, and allowances.
• Manage leave, overtime, and other payroll inputs while ensuring statutory compliance.
• Resolve payroll‑related queries and maintain accurate payroll records.

Required profile

• Human Resources qualification (certificate or diploma) – an added bonus.
• 3‑4 years of overall HR and payroll experience, including HR coordination and management.
• Minimum 2‑3 years of experience using Sage Business Cloud Payroll Professional.
• Exposure to Employment Equity reporting and skills development.
• Strong understanding of employment legislation and payroll compliance.
