HR Generalist

About the role

The HR Generalist will support McCormick South Africa’s Midrand site by managing core HR functions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and fostering a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Administer payroll for approximately 150 staff, ensuring timely and accurate payments and statutory compliance.
• Handle appointment and termination documentation, conduct exit interviews, and manage onboarding for new hires.
• Maintain HR data integrity in relevant systems and keep organisational organograms up to date.
• Provide advice on HR policies, disciplinary cases, grievances, and represent the company at CCMA proceedings.
• Coordinate employee wellness initiatives and chair monthly shop steward meetings in the HR Manager’s absence.
• Oversee recruitment processes, conduct interviews, manage probation reviews, and keep job descriptions current.
• Coach functional leads on performance management, succession planning, and employment equity targets.
• Facilitate training development, compile training matrices, and drive employee development plans.

Required profile

• Degree qualification in Human Resources Management.
• 3–5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist in an FMCG, multinational, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in employee and industrial relations.
