About the role
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will work closely with senior leaders of a refinery to design and deliver people strategies that drive commercial performance. This role blends organisation design, talent management, employee relations, change leadership and workforce planning with data‑driven HR insight to build a high‑performing, engaged workforce.
Key responsibilities
- Act as trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating business strategy into HR priorities and people plans.
- Lead workforce planning, organisational design, restructuring and change initiatives while minimising disruption.
- Drive talent identification, succession planning and leadership development for critical roles.
- Support performance management, recognition programmes and reward frameworks aligned with business goals.
- Oversee complex employee‑relations cases, disciplinary and grievance processes, ensuring compliance with local labour law.
- Partner with talent acquisition to define critical hires, hiring strategies and time‑to‑fill targets.
- Identify capability gaps and work with L&D to design targeted development and leadership programmes.
- Use HR metrics (turnover, engagement, diversity, headcount, productivity) to shape decisions and provide insight to leaders.
- Implement and interpret HR policies, advising on evolution and consistent application.
- Lead or contribute to cross‑functional HR projects such as digital HR, process improvement and employer branding.
- Coach managers and leaders on effective people practices and leadership behaviours.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or in a comparable senior HR role.
- Strong ability to partner with senior leaders and influence business decisions.
- Solid understanding of organisation design, change management and workforce planning.
- Experience in talent management, succession planning and leadership development.
- Deep knowledge of employee‑relations processes and compliance with labour legislation.
- Analytical mindset with capability to use HR data and metrics for decision‑making.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
