HR and SHEQ Manager

About the role

The HR and SHEQ Manager will lead the human resources function while ensuring health, safety, environment and quality (SHEQ) compliance across our construction operations. This senior position reports directly to senior management and requires a blend of HR expertise and SHEQ oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies, recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
• Manage disciplinary processes, organisational development and employee lifecycle activities.
• Lead SHEQ programmes, conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and maintain compliance registers.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensure ISO standards are met and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide coaching and advice to managers and staff on HR and SHEQ matters.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, SHEQ or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience with proven SHEQ responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour laws and employment legislation.
• Experience with ISO certification, risk registers and audit processes.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work onsite in Johannesburg.
