HR Administrator

About the role

The HR Administrator will be based at the Sabie Sawmill in Mpumalanga, providing comprehensive human capital administration and support to York Timbers. This full‑time position ensures accurate, efficient, and timely processing of HR activities while supporting the Human Capital Business Partner, line managers and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, contracts, organograms and HR trackers.
• Prepare and submit payroll inputs, manage leave, overtime, acting allowances, advances and time‑and‑attendance data.
• Produce HR statistics, reports and manage HR data integrity.
• Administer employee benefits and coordinate employee lifecycle movements.
• Provide administrative support for disciplinary, grievance and industrial relations matters.
• Assist with Employment Equity administration and compliance documentation.
• Ensure governance, record‑keeping and confidentiality of all HR documentation.
• Support HR projects, audits, inductions and other operational requirements.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources Management or related field (management certificate advantageous).
• 2–3 years of HR/HR administration experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar operational environment.
• Experience with recruitment, employee administration, payroll input and employee relations is a plus.
