Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees daily housekeeping operations across accommodation, pool, public, crew and other designated areas. Reporting to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Manager, the role ensures high standards of cleanliness, safety and guest satisfaction on a cruise ship environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate housekeeping activities for assigned zones (accommodation, pool, public/crew areas).
• Supervise a team of at least 10 staff members, providing guidance, training and performance feedback.
• Monitor compliance with cleaning techniques, chemical handling, safety procedures and personal protective equipment usage.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and usage.
• Utilize housekeeping software and reporting tools to track performance metrics and address guest concerns.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of supervisory experience in a large 4‑ or 5‑star hotel (500+ rooms), cruise line or comparable hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning standards, chemical safety and equipment handling.
• Good command of English; additional language skills such as Spanish are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using housekeeping and operational software (SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia, Kronos).
• Computer literacy and ability to navigate internet‑based applications.
