Hotel Cleanliness Expert (Houseman)

About the role

The Hotel Cleanliness Expert (Houseman) ensures guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. Working on the Liesbeek Avenue site, you will support the housekeeping team by delivering timely room service, handling supplies, and upholding safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest and department requests, delivering supplies and equipment as needed.
• Enter guest rooms following established access procedures, verify vacancy, and replace amenities, linens, and towels.
• Make beds, fold towels, clean bathrooms, and remove trash, dirty linen, and room‑service items.
• Inspect rooms for missing or malfunctioning appliances and report any issues.
• Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings; vacuum carpets and perform floor‑care duties in rooms and hallways.
• Follow all company safety, security, and hazardous‑material handling policies, reporting any hazards or incidents immediately.
• Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance, and protect confidential information.

Required profile

• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 25 lb unaided and heavier items with assistance.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, kneel, bend, twist and reach overhead for extended periods.
• Capability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart on uneven surfaces.
• Commitment to follow safety training, use personal protective equipment, and adhere to company policies.
• Clear, professional communication skills and a courteous attitude toward guests and colleagues.
