Hospital Messenger – Internal Communications & Logistics

About the role

The Messenger supports Mediclinic’s daily operations by ensuring the swift and secure movement of messages, documents, packages and other items between offices, departments and external partners. This role is essential for maintaining continuous communication and the timely distribution of critical resources within a hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and deliver mail, packages and documents across various hospital locations.
• Provide basic office support services, including handling incoming and outgoing correspondence.
• Control and monitor risks associated with the handling and transport of confidential or sensitive items.
• Assist with stock control and the management of office supplies.
• Operate office machinery such as photocopiers and manage related tasks.

Required profile

• Essential education: Grade 10.
• Desired education: Grade 12.
• No prior experience required; experience in a hospital setting is a plus.
• Ability to work reliably in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with telephone systems.
• Computer literate – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
• Basic stock control abilities.
• Familiarity with office machinery such as photocopiers.
• Experience in distribution and collection of mail and packages.
