Head Waiter

About the role

The Head Waiter is a full‑time, on‑site position at MY Diners in Cape Town. You will lead the front‑of‑house team to deliver a memorable dining experience, ensuring service standards are consistently high.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coach waitstaff throughout each shift.
• Manage reservations, seating plans and table allocations.
• Take guest orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen.
• Monitor the flow of service to maintain timely food and beverage delivery.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback and complaints professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness, presentation and professionalism on the restaurant floor.
• Collaborate closely with kitchen and management to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑facing experience with proven service skills.
• Previous supervisory or head‑waiter experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Ability to lead, motivate and train a diverse service team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
